CMCs like “Keramikblech” for the burner technology

The life time of flame tubes made of metal under high thermal load is limited. Partially they are destroyed after only 1000 h. Flame tubes made of “Keramikblech” are working reliably under the same conditions for more than 20.000 h. With flame tubes made of “sheet ceramic” the down time is reduced noticeably.

Flame tubes made of SiC will oxidize under high temperatures and load. In the course of time SiC will turn into SiO₂. Long time loaded structures will get brittle and will be destroyed at low load.

Today CMCs like “Keramikblech” are the ideal material for flame tubes: temperature resistant, thermal- shock-resistant, damage tolerant, corrosion-resistant, thin-walled, lightweight, long-lasting, economical!
