As far as the material development is concerned, Pritzkow Spezialkeramik cooperates with the Fraunhofer Institut für Silicatforschung (ISC), Würzburg. The experience of the ISC in the sol-gel chemistry is used to develop new types of “Keramikblech”. For the manufacturing processes of oxide ceramic matrix composites, (OCMCs) the ISC develops the binding systems, powders, and the slurry. OCMCs from 3M™ Nextel 610 fabrics and ISC - matrices are showing a high energy absorption to the point of crack and are damage tolerant.
